     I James Hoey of the borough of Freedom, county of Beaver & state of Pennsylvania do make a publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made and first I direct that my body be decently interred and as to such worldly state as it hath pleased God to entrust me with I dispose of the same as follows.
     First I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses as soon after my decease as payable out of the first money that shall come into the hands of my executors from any portion of my estate real or personal.
     Also I direct that a fair valuation or appraisment be made by two judicious neighbors of all my said estate including my household furniture and after being signed with their names that a copy of same shall be given to my executor also.
     Also I direct that all my stock in trade be sold at publick auction and that all the real estate of which I shall ??????? of shall be sold by my executor for its reasonable value for good current money or on such credit and the amount thereof secured in such manner as is usual in like cases to insure the full & punctual payment thereof and to effectuate this my ???? I do hereby vest in my executors full power and authority to dispose of my real estate in full simple or for a term of years or otherwise in a full and large a manner in every respect as I could do myself do if living.
     Also I direct that my wife Susan Hoey be paid her full dowry by my said executor out of the proceeds of sale above mentioned according to the provision of the law in such cases made & provided and I also direct that after my said wife shall have been paid the balance of my affects both real & personal heretofore ordered by me to be disposed of be divided equally as soon as it can be done by my executor after it come into his hands in money in the following manner and to my several children as follows to wit. one seventh part to my eldest son William Hoey, one seventh part to my daughter Catherine Hoey now Catherine Eakin, one seventh part to my daughter Jane N. Hoey now Jane N. Erwin, one seventh part to my daughter Mary Armstrong Hoey, one seventh part to my son Robert Burr Hoey, one seventh part to my daughter Adaline Hoey, one seventh part to my son James Alexander Hoey and I do hereby make and ordain my esteemed friend Robert Burr of the city of Pittsburgh executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I James Hoey the testator have to this my will written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred fifty eight. DAUGHERTY TOWNSHIP FARM NEWS
  Disease-free potato seed will be distributed in the township this spring. Farmers will compare this seed with home grown. The demand for this seed has been greater than we were able to supply.
 
W.J. Hoey has constructed a homemade power sprayer. This machine is equipped with a Prof. Nixon boom for potato spraying. By replacing the boom with a hose and pilot rod the machine may be used for orchard work.
  August Rombold has ordered a Prof. Nixon boom sprayer, which he will attach to his orchard prayer and use in spraying his potatoes.
  John Yeager has ordered a combination sprayer, manufactured by the Bean Company.
  Pruning demonstrations were held last week on the Hoey and Rombold farms. It was brought out that apple trees should be cut lightly. Thinning of the twigs to admit sunlight and ventilation is usually ample. Peach trees can stand heavy pruning.
  The Daugherty Chester White Swine Breeders’ Association are fostering the boys’ and girls’ pig club in their community. Present indications are that a large enrollment will be secured.

25 March 1927: William McKinley Hoey dies from "injuries received when struck by P&LE passenger train at RR crossing in Monaco PA." He was born November 1900 in Beaver Co., Pennsylvania to William J. Hoey (b Allegheny Co) and Anna Pfeifer (b Allegheny). He was employed as a truck driver for Sterling Gas Co. He was married to Clistia Hoey. The informant was William J. Hoey of RFD#2 New Brighton, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Grove Cemetery on 28 March 1927.

17 February 1930: Anna B. Hoey died at 3pm in Daugherty, Beaver Co., Pennsylvania of carcinoma of breast and lungs. She was born in 1865 in Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. Her parents were George Pfeifer born NS (Nova Scotia?) and Lena Geohning born NS (Nova Scotia?). Informat was husband William J. Hoey living at RFD#2, New Brighton, Pennsylvania. 9 April 1932: Robert B. Hoey dies in Little Beaver, Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania of a cerebral tumor. Single and son of Robert B. Hoey and Elizabeth Montgomery. He was born 13 May 1878 in Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. He was buried at Grove Cemetery, New Brighton, Pennsylvania on 12 April 1932.

15 August 1932: William J. Hoey dies of hypertrophic biliary cirrhosis or malignancy and ulceration of tibial (rt leg) surfaces at Beaver Valley General Hospital in New Brighton, Beaver Co., Pennsylvania. He is the widow of Anna Hoey. His occupation was as a self employed carpenter. He was 63 years old, born 1 January 1869 in Pennsylvania to James Hoey and Katherine unknown. Informant was Robert Hoey of Marion Hill, Pennsylvania. He was buried aat Unionville Cemetery on 18 August 1932.

LARGE CACHE OF LIQUOR IS FOUND
  An underground cellar containing 632 gallons of moonshine was found by County Detectives and State Police on a farm owned by William J. Hoey, 62, Daugherty Township constable, Saturday, the officers reported today. It is said to be the largest cache of liquor ever discovered in Beaver County. The cellar was completely underground and built of tile. A majority of the liquor was in 50-gallon barrels. A gasoline burner and some other equipment was found, but no still.
  Hoey and his son-in-law, Rudolph H. Rumbold, 36, were arrested at the farm, and Charles Kraska, 40, Sixth Avenue, Beaver Falls, alleged owner of the liquor, was taken into custody at his home.  All three were held for court under $2,000 bail each by Justice of the Peace J. Walter Lewis of New Brighton.
  Hoey was elected constable in Daugherty Township two years ago and still holds the office.
  County Detectives today reported the arrest of Watson Biesekel, 40, Industry Township, proprietor of Beezie’s Service Station, on charges of possession of liquor. About 80 pints of beer were found, they said. Biesekel was held for court under $2,000 bail by Justice of the Peace Lewis.

  Born Feb. 25, 1924, in New Brighton, a son of the late Rudolph H. Sr. and Katherine Hoey Rombold, he was a retired barber and owner of the former Plowmaker Barbershop, Rochester. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Parish, Monaca, and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Figley Mae Rombold, in 2009; two brothers, Raymond and John Rombold; two sisters, Catherine Teets and Norma Jean Brewster. 
  He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane A. and Charles Liebegott, Patterson Township; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Jacqie Rombold, Hixson, TN and James Rombold, Trinidad, CO; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Andy Ketterer, New Brighton; Anna Mae Gallagher, Texas and Bill Brewster, Erie, PA; one brother and three sisters-in-law, Norman "Bud" and Lena Rombold, Daugherty Twp.; Margaret Rombold, Zelienople and Ann Taylor, Monaca; numerous nieces and nephews. 
  There will be no visitation. A private Mass of Christian burial will be held at a later date at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Monaca. Private interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. 
  Arrangements by WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester.

John Harvey Hoey, 67, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2007, in The Medical Center, Beaver, following a brief illness. Born April 30, 1939, in New Brighton, a son of the late Harvey and Helen Klein Hoey, he graduated from New Brighton High School, Robert Morris University and served in the National Guard. John was the owner of Travel Depot in Cranberry Township. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Nancy Heberling; two nieces, Nadine (James) Druschel, Beaver, and Cynthia (Timothy) Eisenhart, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; a nephew, David Heberling, Daugherty Township; a great-nephew, Thomas Eisenhart; four great-nieces, Leah Eisenhart, Hannah Eisenhart, Elizabeth Druschel and Grace Druschel, and his friends, Paula and Bob Strock, Ambridge. Friends will be received today, March 27, 2007, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 28, 2007, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, conducted by the Rev. James J. Krouse of the Marion Hill Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. John had a zest for life and an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed sports, cars and travel. His kind and generous nature will be lovingly remembered by his family and by his friends.
