This is the second generation of the this web page, a major update of the first which premiered in March 1997. The format has changed considerably from the first and more of my research has been converted to HTML and is presented here. I continue to gather all data on the Hoey, Hoy and Haughey surnames with a concentration on the Hoey family.
My own lineage focuses around the Essex and Hudson counties of New Jersey and only very limited information has been gathered on my Irish heritage. Beyond the names of the Irish family members left behind in Ireland, I have found little to narrow the geography of where my ancestors once called home. Efforts now are concentrating on County Louth, north of Dublin, as the Hoey name is prominent there. With a little Irish luck, perhaps 2001 will provide a clue to search further.
